City Council Deploys Staff to Monitor Citywide Primary

The City Council deployed a team of staffers to monitor Tuesday's primary - hoping to avoid a repeat of April's presidential primary in which 120,000 voters arrived at polls to find they had been purged from the rolls. Of Birds and Buddhists: Wildlife Rehab, NYC Style

Spring is the busy season at the Wild Bird Fund , the only wildlife rehabilitation center to be found anywhere in the five boroughs. On a recent Monday afternoon, a constant procession of concerned humans walked through the Fund's door near the corner of Columbus Avenue and 87th Street bearing feathered patients of all types and sizes-a little white pigeon in a plastic cage, a trio of ducklings the size of Peeps in a Pampers box, something else in a plastic bowl covered with a paper towel.

The Boston Globe 's Mark Shanahan has written that Charlotte Feng Ford, a 1983 graduate of Smith College, has gifted the school's museum with $2.5 million for an endowed contemporary art curatorship. Ford is a major art collector based in New York and owns works by Karen Kilimnik, David Hammons, Gabriel Orozco, Alice Neel, and Laura Owens, among others.
